Overtime of ASU and FIU

3:14 overtime: The Lady Indians have opened the extra period with five consecutive points to lay claim to a 62-57 lead.

1:08 overtime: ASU's defensive pressure is remaining strong as the team has hold of a 66-62 lead.

42.4 seconds overtime: The Lady Indians will be heading to the foul line for two shots at the conclusion of FIU's 30-second timeout. The Golden Panthers allowed the Tribe to use up nearly all of their 30-second shot clock before fouling Jazmine Taylor.

42.4 seconds overtime: Taylor connected on one out of two free throws as the Tribe has a 67-62 lead.

28.8 seconds overtime: A tough ASU defense forced FIU into a turnover and forced the Golden Panthers to foul. Sophomore guard Ebonie Jefferson connected on the two foul shots as the Lady Indians climbed to a 69-62 lead.

18.5 seconds overtime: After an FIU field goal cut the lead to five, ASU was fouled by FIU junior guard Iva Ciglar, who fouled out with the call. Freshman guard Angie Criner hit both of the free throws to build the Tribe lead back to 71-64.

8.6 seconds overtime: FIU freshman guard Fanni Hutlassa fouled out after fouling freshman forward Shay Scott. Scott connected on one of the foul shots to build the lead to 8 at 72-64.

Final Score: ASU 72 FIU 64

Despite working a bit harder then they originally imagined, the Lady Indians came away with a crucial conference victory to move their record to 12-9 and 7-3 in the Sun Belt.

ASU and FIU 2nd half

15:45 2nd half: The Lady Indians have extended an 8 point halftime lead to 11 points at 43-32. Despite building on their lead, ASU has struggled from the foul line in the 2nd half. After connecting on 7 of 10 in the 1st half, the Tribe has misfired on 4 2nd half attempts.

11:45 2nd half: After allowing back-to-back 3-pointers to FIU, ASU freshman guard Rachel Baker connected on a baseline jumper to build the Tribe lead back to nine at 47-38.

10:55 2nd half: Over the past minute FIU has closed the ASU lead to three at 47-44. During that time, the Golden Panthers have connected on two more 3-pointers, making it four consecutive treys FIU has shot without missing.

7:41 2nd half: What looked like it was going to be a relatively easy victory for the Lady Indians has turned into a battle with FIU. After building a lead as big as 11 points, the Tribe now leads by only 1 point at 49-48.

6:16 2nd half: The Convocation Center crowd is starting to get louder with cheering for the Lady Indians as the team has gone on a 6-0 run to build their lead back to 7 points at 55-48.

3:39 2nd half: Everytime it looks like ASU is about to put FIU away, the Golden Panthers manage to pull out another run. Currently, FIU is on a 5-0 run and will be at the free throw line after the conclusion of the final media timeout. ASU leads FIU 56-53.

2:27 2nd half: ASU has called a 30-second timeout as FIU has continued a late game 9-0 spurt to reclaim the lead at 57-56.

1:19 2nd half: After Jazmine Taylor converted on one free throw to tie the game at 57-57, senior guard Caroline Starr hustled on defense and forced a jump ball to give the possession back to the Lady Indians. With 1:04 to play, the Tribe has called a 30-second timeout to prepare for the final minute.

56.7 seconds 2nd half: FIU forced a jump ball to regain possession, but could not inbound the ball and had to call a timeout to keep from turning the ball over on the 5-second rule.

21.5 seconds 2nd half: The Lady Indians forced FIU to turn the ball over and now have possession on their offensive end of the court. Head coach Brian Boyer has called a full timeout to set up a final play as the Tribe has the option to hold for a final shot with the shot clock turned off.

End of regulation: Arkansas State had 21.5 seconds to get a shot off and failed to even get a shot off so the game is headed into overtime with the score notted up at 57-57.

ASU and FIU Halftime Recap

After falling behind 23-15, Arkansas State closed out the 1st half on a 21-5 run to stake claim to a 36-28 halftime lead. Halftime stats will be coming shortly.

20:00 1st half: ASU wins the tip.

15:07 1st half: FIU leads ASU 8-4 at the 1st media timeout. So far, the Lady Indians have not turned the ball over, but are struggling from the field shooting 25 percent.

13:39 1st half: ASU sophomore guard Jazmine Taylor just finished off a 3-point play by converting the free throw. Taylor has scored 5 straight points to close the Tribe deficit to 10-9.

12:20 1st half: Five seconds after scoring on a bucket that gave the Lady Indians an 11-10, junior guard Brittney Hiles fouled an FIU player, who made the shot and the free throw as the Golden Panthers reclaimed a 13-11 lead.

11:36 1st half: At the 2nd media timeout, the Lady Indians trail FIU by a score of 13-11. ASU and FIU have both converted on five shots from the field. Currently, the Golden Panthers have the edge in rebounding at 11-9.

10:24 1st half: FIU is currently on a 7-0 run as they have streaked to a 17-11 lead.

7:57 1st half: ASU has gone on a 6-0 run over the last minute to close within 23-21 of FIU.

7:30 1st half: ASU and FIU are tied at 15 rebounds apiece, while the Lady Indians have forced 6 turnovers on the Golden Panthers, compared to only 1 for the Tribe.

4:05 1st half: ASU senior guard Caroline Starr connected on a 3-pointer from the left wing to give the Lady Indians a 30-27 lead. Starr's 3-pointer capped a 7-0 run for the Tribe to give them their 1st lead since it was 11-9 at the 12:25 mark of the 1st half.

3:06 1st half: Junior forward Ashley Anderson connected on two free throws as the Lady Indians continue on what is now an 11-0 run. The Tribe leads FIU 34-27.

57.5 seconds 1st half: Lady Indian head coach Brian Boyer has called a 30 second timeout to set up his team's game plan for the final minute of the opening half. ASU is currently on a 13-1 run and has a 36-28 lead.
